2024 GAME SCHEDULE

As the reigning back-to-back-to-back Mountain West Champions, the University of New Mexico Soccer Team wraps up another record-breaking season winning the conference regular season title three times in a row, something that’s never been done in the history of the conference.

With an overall record of 7-3-9, the Lobos ended the season on a streak of 602 consecutive shutout minutes, with 6 straight clean sheets, setting a new program record for both. They earned 8 total shutouts, the 7th consecutive year in playoffs, and six all-conference players. Head Coach Heather Dyche owns the most conference wins by any Lobo women’s soccer head coach with 54.

Six Lobos earned Mountain West All-Conference honors. Leilani Baker, Karlee Maes, and Jadyn Edwards were named to the First Team, Jaelyn Hendren was named to the Second Team, and Alli Davis and Sophia Roberts were selected for the All-Newcomer Team.

The season saw individual players reaching new heights as well.

Edwards moved to the top of numerous program records. She stands as the program leader with 94 games played and 24 career assists. For the second straight season, she earned CoSIDA Academic All-District first-team, and for the third straight season, she was named to the United Soccer Coaches all-region. Additionally, Edwards was the first Lobo women’s soccer player to be drafted by a National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team.

Hendren owns the most games started with 93 and was selected to an all-conference team for the first time in her career.

Baker played in 83 matches since the fall of 2017 while scoring 18 goals and adding eight assists for 44 total points. She ranked just behind Edwards with seven goals this season, and earned all-conference recognition for the second time in her career

This was the third season in a row where Maes earned a nod to the conference first-team. Maes played in 82 matches while starting 74 in her five seasons as a Lobo, and pushed forward to score a pair of goals this fall while adding four assists. Overall she scored four goals and added 10 assists in her career.

In her newcomer season, Davis ranked first in the conference in goals-against average at .700, second in save percentage at .840, tied for third with 7 shutouts, and sixth in saves with 68.

Roberts started all 19 matches, notching 1 goal and 1 assist while also being a relentless defender.

In addition to excelling on the field, the UNM Women’s Soccer Team also excels in the classroom. The team finished the Spring 2023 semester with a team grade point average of 3.89, the best GPA in the history of the program. The mark continues the trend of academic success for the program, however. The Lobos have now posted a GPA of 3.6 or better for 16 straight seasons.

The Lobos look forward to an outstanding 2023 season as they try to win four Mountain West Conference Championships in a row, something that has never before been done, and make a run in the NCAA Tournament.

Thank you in advance for your support of UNM Women’s Soccer. Go Lobos!
